Was wandering what the best 3.5-4 inch lift kits are i want to keep the soft ride to. Has anyone tried Tuff Country EZ-Ride Suspension's ? Thanks Dennis
Hey Wormslinger. I put a 4" superlift on mine which in my opinion made the ride a little better than what it was, the ride on these trucks r for sure not car like. Anyway this superlift made the trucks turning radius better also. The kit included new front 10 leaf replacement springs, new track bar bracket, new bumpstops, new anti-sway bar drop brackets for both sides, new shocks front and rear, it came with blocks for the rear to bring it up but I went ahead an bought new rear spring packs because I just did'nt like the blocks. I installed it myself, well actually me and my wife, an it was'nt a hard install. The off-road shop wanted $500 big ones to install so I did it myself. I did a lot of research on lift kits for about 6 months before I bought one an I feel superlift is one of the best. Just my pennies worth. Good luck. Oh by the way i have a 2001 superduty 4x4 cc w/ powerstroke. later
Guys the truck is a 02, I really dont want much of a lift i just want to put 33's on it. The stock tires and wheels dont even come close to filling the wheel wells out. I think it looks stupid.
Yes i think they will fit but may have some rubbing issues. After rethinking the lift option i think i might just put a leveling kit on. If i go this direction with 35 inchers how tall will this raise the total heigh of the truck? I have about 4 inches from the top of the truck to the bottom of my garage door will i still be able to clear the door if i go with leveling kit and 35? thanks Dennis
I have a set of 33"ers sitting in my grass, if you bolt them onto your truck I'm sure it'd raise it 4 inches so 35's would definatly not work out with your garage door.
I am going with the Kelderman air ride suspension 6"-7" lift in my '00 F250. They also make a 4"-5" lift. This lift removes the leaf suspension in front and rear, giving you a 4-link suspension. This is said (should) dramaticly improve the ride quality. You can also get in-cab controllers for the front and rear, this helps when adding a load to the rear end. You can also check out the new system by Skyjacker called the Z-link suspension kit. This kit removes the front leaf spring and replaces them with a coil over system making the front only a 4-link. This system received awards at this years SEMA show for innovation. Food for thought.
isn't that the airbag system used on the bullydog show truck featured on the tv show "Trucks"
Those are nice but one reason why I bought my truck is because of the leaf springs, very simple and stout suspension design. I can't stand IFS (chevy) stuff is always wearing out.

You are right, same suspension. I am looking for ride quality first and off road capabilites second. The air bags will handle any load parameters. Air bags are used on big rigs and busses. The rigging should be very stout but with an awesome ride for you kidneys.
Just checked out the Kelderman Website, has anyone actually had this done? Just curious to how far the frame work protrudes underneath the back of the truck?
Man the more and more I think about the Air ride it gets me excited, thanks gymrat that is an awesome setup, I'm sure my wife will love it when I tell her what I "need" next though
I purchased the kit from Jeff Kelderman last week, the parts were powder coated and shipped yesterday. I and My mechanic brother and I are doing the install next Thursday in Sacramento along with this some Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks. This should do the trick. I will let you know how it goes. I'm pretty stoked myself. Trowing on some Pro Comp X-terrain 37/13.50x18 on some MKW MK19 wheels also.
