I need to put disc brakes on my 51 f-2. It is an 8 lug truck. Does anyone now of a conversion kit or have any ideas that my help? I would at least like to put a power booster on it. Any help i much apreciated.
I'm not sure about the 8 lug hubs. I put discs on my half ton hubs and its quick and easy. I used the ECI kit. You might try calling their tech line and seeing what they can do for you. There are several manufacterers that might be able to help. Here's a couple of links. http://www.ecihotrodbrakes.com/ http://www.classicperform.com/brakes.htm

Do a advanced search on me user name, and you will find the info that you are looking for. My f-3 front discs have now been tested and work great.
found all the parts. Also came across 2 more trucks i had to buy. Couldn't pass them up for $950. Should be able to start on the brakes this weekend. I'll let ya know how it goes.
A 1955 F-350 wrecker and a 1953 f-100. The wrecker had the engine rebuild about 5000 miles ago and they just didn't use it much. He was going to junk the trucks. Wish i would have gotten there sooner. One of the guys working there said he had just gave a bunch or big block engines away. Gave away the 2 400 that were put back for me also because he didn't tell the guy loading them they didn't go. Seen a 61 unibody also but one of the guys had smashed it up with the tractor.
