I have a 75 F250 with a 360. I am looking to rid all of the smog equipment on my truck and get rid of all the vacuum lines that I dont need. Does anyone know of a diagram that has only the needed vacuum lines instead of the stock diagrams? Or can anyone just tell what I need to keep and what I can toss? Thanks
The only vacuum lines I have left on my 74 are vacuum advance, brake booster vacuum line, and positive crank case ventilation (PCV). Of course I don't have the same carb sitting up there either but I would think you wouldn't need any more than that. Mine is also a 4 speed so I don't need the transmission vacuum modulator crud etc. If you have an automatic, you'll need that stuff.

the only vacuum lines you need are brake booster, vacuum advance, pcv and trans modulator. hook the vacuum advance right up to the timed vacuum port on the carb and ditch the smog pump.
correct! i got rid of mine last year when my truck no longer had to be smogged in california and i dropped in a 428 i am doing the a/c conversion in it now. the projects just never stop.
Thanks for all the help guys, I just finished getting all that crap out of there. It looks so much cleaner instantly, its great! Now I just have to work on getting those smog tubes off, the are on there so tight! I suppose a lot of rust has to do with that! :-)
Don't throw anything away. California smog law states that while our older vehicles are no longer required to be smog tested, they still are required to have all the smog equipment on them that came from the factory. They are not exempt from smog laws, just exempt from testing.
Now of course you can do what you want. But if you ever decide to sell your truck all the orginal smog equipment must be in place. FYI
well getting the smog tubes off in one piece is impossoble they will break i just cut each tube off removed the rail then used a impact gun to remove them i tried the other way and spent 4 hours on one.
