Help please on the low oil pressure

I just put a new Ford Racing 302 in my 68 bronco after the 289 finally gave way.
I just finishing priming the new oil pump and she started up, but I have low oil pressure...4 when idle, and 30some when reved up. I took off the valve covers and there is only a little oil coming out of the roller rockers...should it be shooting out? The whole system is brand new...where could the problem lye?
The gage could be not working properly since it had a slight crimp in the plastic line, but it is the lack of flooding oil over the rockers that scares me. I dont want to seize a brand new engine. Any help out there?
thanks

well i would fix the tubing to the gauge first. what kind of oil filter are you running the filter may have collapsed on you and what weight oil are you running.

I changed the oil and filter, and put another brand new pump on...it's not a high volume...does that make a difference? I am using 20w 50.. I changed the tube and it still is low...what kind of oil flow should I be seeing?

ok stop. why are you using 20w50 way to thick for the new engine and not good for cam break in you should be running 10w30 or 15w40 tops. well you should have 10 psi for every 1,000 rpm

Thanks! I know I am a little neurotic about this low pressure...I just put a lot of time in this project...it was very over my head, but I have learned a lot...and that was my goal. Now that the engine has cranked over, the last thing I want it to do is seize.
Last question...you don't think I should worry that it doesn't look like there is a gushing flow of oil over the rockers?

no i would worry about it i just said the oil was too thick you need to find out where all the pressure is going it sounds like there is a missing oil plug somewhere in the engine you should see a dribble out of the rockers and be sure the gauge you are using is known to be accurate sometimes they will break or not work at all . make sure you break the cam in right or this whole thing will be a waste the engine will fail. you need to keep the rpm's between 2,000 and 2,500 for 30 minutes and vary the speed to break the cam in right.

You hit the nail on the head with the oil plug...when I talked to Ford Racing Tech...we figured that I missed the oil plug in on the top rear of the enging.
It does not come plugged as a shortblock...so I need to take the intake man.
off and plug it. That would explain the no upper oil but some pressure in the system...I hope that will be problem solved.
thanks
