Hey, First post here. My nephew has a 89 Ford Bornco II and it will not start. There is spark at the plugs and if you depress the schrader valve on the fuel rail fuel shoots out, I have also got the truck to start and run as long as I am spraying starting fluid into the air Intake, but as soon as I stop spraying the truck stops. I put a test light on the Injector wires and they have current to them but the test light stays on from the time you turn the key on and stays on the whole time you are cranking the engine, there is no pulse. The truck was being driven when it quit running ( stopped as it would if it was out of gas ). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Reason: Add more information
The wiring diagram for my 87 2.9 shows that 3 injectors are wired to the ECA on LG/W. The other 3 are on T/R. Looks like the ECA isnt pulsing the ground to these wires.
First thing to do is pull the codes & see if that gives you any clues.
Update: I did a fuel pressure check @ fuel rail it is 45 PSI with the key on. But I noticed when I start to crank the E/G the fuel pump seems to be kicking off, the fuel pressure while cranking the E/G is around 20 PSI though. Is this normal? Haven't pulled any codes yet my meter is digital, I'll have to Invest in an analog one.

just a quick thing have to check the connections on the injectors they all have to be pinned in place meaning they all have a small clip on the electric connect to keep them in place sometimes they fall off or dislodge cuase one or two injectors to stop working right. if you have a test light then you can pull codes just read the b2 forum top posts.
check all your ground wires, i had the same problem with mine and thats what it turned out to be. it was a little black wire that hooked to the - battery cable, i guess i knocked it off wrestling with spark pugs, i crimped on a connection and put it on right, and she started right up
just a quick note. you should never use a test light on the fuel injector connector. this can burn out the computer. you should always use a noid light. you dont need anymore trouble than youve all ready got.
