Look through your front grill, if you have 2 small coolers in front of the large radiator you have the HD tow package. One is a tranny cooler, the other cools the power steering (I think). I am fairly certain that the existence of a 7 pin connector next to the hitch is also another way to verify. I think w/o the factory tow package all you have is a four pin connection. You also get the higher ratio on the rear axle.

They all have the 5.4L engine now, so you can't go by that.

According to the 04 order guide, the only option required for the Tow Package was the 5.4L engine. The package included 7-pin wire harness, heavy duty auxiliary transmission oil cooler, heavy duty radiator (mid-year production change as of 12/1/03), electronic braking wiring kit, and upgraded the trailer hitch receiver from Class III to Class IV. You could have either the open diff (with or without AdvanceTrac) or LS diff.

I would agree that the 7-pin wire harness is the easiest way to tell, as long as the truck hasn't had any aftermarket mods.
