Bolt!!
Say, does anyone out there have a line on bolts/fasteners? I need a 5" long X 5/16-18 cap screw (need an allen wrench to tighten it). I can't find anything that long in town and one of the industrial fastener places said they don't even list a bolt that long. I just found out that my handy dandy Zoops front end is supposed to work only with the short water pumps and, of course, I have the standard long pump. Not to worry, though, they sell the timing cover and short water pump for a mere $240; but then I would need a new crank and water pump pulley (another $200 ). Well, it looks to me like I only need to get longer bolts and a 1" spacer and the thing will line up perfect. I shouldn't get so down on Zoops though, they've really worked with me pretty good, but they don't have the longer bolts and they are real interested in looking at my solution to see if they can modify their package to accomodate the long water pumps. Maybe I'll hit them up for some royalties or somethin'

Man, the first place I called locally has 700 in stock.Here's the specs;5/16-18 x 5 GR8 Black Oxide Socket Cap Screw = $0.72 each! The vendor is A&B Bolt Co. but I don't think they are nationwide.I know you can find'em closer than I am,you'll just have to do some leg work.If you need,I will mail you them for just what it costs.Let me know.

You're fantastic!! I called all over town including to a place called Fastenal that specializes in industrial fasteners. He said they don't even make one. Called several other industrial fastener stores and finally found a guy at one of these old, hole-in-the wall hardware stores (where they have everything laying around in piles) and he ordered the same thing, black oxide, GR8. I should have them tomorrow(he ordered 2 just in case). Then, I'll get my hoses built and maybe I'll finally have a front end that doesn't eat belts every 500 miles!! I found a hose place in nearby Raliegh to do my PS pump and A/C hoses.
