tail gate question
How do I get the tail gate off of my 90 F150 truck with styleside (regular) bed? Manual says remove top retainer cables on both sides...okay, then lift up right side of tail gate off the right bottom hinge...grunt, groan, strain, no can do. She won't budge. Is there a trick to this? Don't want to lever or pry on it and screw something up.

Look on the right side where the tailgate pivots from , there is a slot on the hinge part on the tailgate its self, line it up with the inner hinge and pull up on the right side of the tailgate then the left side slides out and away, its easy you just have to get it lined up just right. good luck.
