Swap engine and drivetrain.
I have a 1996 F150 4.9L Reg. cab longbox, 5 speed trans 4x4 with a very bent frame, What I want to do is move the engine and complete drive train to another older pickup truck and I would like to know what other pickup can I transfer to with the least amount of work? I want an older truck to transfer to because I can purchase an older model for less$$.Any info or advise welcome. Thanks.

Everything is basically the same from 80-96 as far are mounting locations are concerned. Since you are swapping the wiring and all the year isn't really important. You could easily go back to 64...
