Go to Crutchfields site. There are a boat load of Double Din. They have a search tool that will let you see what fits.
I have two single din in my dash. Dang near anything fits in here with the right adaptor.
For anyone going to aftermarket single din, Wall-Mart now carries the Scoschc units. Get your harness adaptor there for 7 bucks, and your radio adaptor for 10. These are Scoschc brand, and look much better than the Metra at most other places.
The harness adaptor is also the premium with the extra wires, not the cheap one from Circuit City, Crutchfields etc.
hey chris quick question as you seem to be the resident stereo guy ( u have had about 1000000 in your truck so far) crutchfield only shows 1 unit that will "fit" will most any double din unit work or is it only certain ones?
Are you sure that you are using the new model option? It shows 3 double din on the first page.
Again, there is a huge amount of space in there. Any aftermarket double-din should fit.
The prices there will put you into shock though. I only reference it because it has a lot in one place and a useful, if not complete, search by fit setup.
On e-bay you can find lots more double din, and many of the vendors use a 'will it fit' function.
transam396, you still looking for a sound system? I thought you nabbed something from that outlet store.
Chris
Does anyone know of a nice double-din unit for under $500?
I'll take a look, but I wonder, Why? a single unit with the ten dollar Schschc adaptor looks very nice. And if you want, you can later put a second unit under it, video, gps, whatever.
Is there a reason to use double din? If so please post and let me know.
Chris
There are lots more. Notice the high satisfaction rating on these vendors.
I don't see a problem getting double din.
Chris
Whoops had to edit to remove links. Must be a stereo vendor as a sponsor. Didn't know.
Still, go to ebay and key in these numbers and check out some options.

I haven't seen an install of a single DIN that looked that great. The dash has a double DIN hole, and I'd rather put a double DIN unit in. Just my opinion.
hey chris. thnks for the reply , yeah i got my sub , my door speakers and my amps and acutally have everything but one amp installed. I'm going to wait till i get a new headunit to put the other amp in. It looks good and sounds good but I've gotten bit by the bug and now I want a new headunit as well I'm just checking all my options and trying to get the best bang for the buck. But it has to look good as well
Heres a nice one Im eyeballing, CLARION ADB340MP. Looks good and seems to have decent specs. And looks like a solid value as well. Just thought Id trow in my 2 cents. Hope it helps.

Chris, is there a kit available that allows you to mount another unit under the single din stereo? All the ones I have seen wont allow it because of the tray. I have a cb radio that fits perfectly underthere but I cant figure out how to get everything mounted.

Sure, look in my gallery. I have a Din monitor and a Din stereo under it. It's a Metra kit, cost about 15 bucks. You can buy it at Crutfield.com. I am sure other places. From Crutfield it came with two mounts in the box, one a single din the other a dual din. You can also modify some of the single din to double din, but the Metra setup works well, then you can either keep the spare single in case you change your mind, or give it away.
If you get the double din, look over the instructions carefully as there are a couple ways to put it together wrong. You will also need some SHORT bolts to go through the plastic sides, and not too far into your stereo CB/Monitor/DVD/GPS or whatever.

Is there an adaptor that allows me to hook up the kenwood ddx7015(???) to the audiophile system and have it work with the stock amps, speakers, and sub? AND still allow the steering wheel controls to work too???
