What Transmission
I recently bought a 2003 F-250 Super Duty 4X4 with a V-10. The door tag code for transmission is E. The local Ford dealership told me it was a 4R100 but it does not have the TOW/HAUL on the gear selector. It does have a transmission temp gauge, if that makes a difference. I searched this forum several times and could not find the answer already posted. Also can anyone decode the SPRING Codes VP.

It's a 4R100. Only the TorqShift has Tow/Haul, and that trans wasn't available with the V10 until 2005.

Thanks for the answer. I was just wondering about the Tow/Haul button because the owners manual shows a Tow/Haul switch for the 4R100.

There is an overdrive on/off switch on your truck. In 2004 only the diesel had tow/haul. The owner's manual does have an occasional error.
