rear end codes

I need help figuring out some codes on my truck. 81 f-100, 302, auto. this is off the plate in the engine and i hope it has the rear end type and gear. 8955F101 4 01 K A Is the numbers that follow the VIN. thanks.

i thought for rear gear you need to get from drivers side door plate. Or the filthy tag on rear cover bolt

Odds are you have the 9" rear, 8.8's didn't become the rear of fords choice till something like 85, but they were phased in from 80 on up till 86 when they got rid of the 9'er.
