I have an Rv with a 1986 Econoline 350 frame 8 Cyl
460 engine. it overheats fairly quickly. I
replaced the thermostat but keeps happening.
Does this engine have a sensor for the clutch on the fan? I am not sure if the fan is working.
Anyway any help would be appreciated
Hey Kip,if you are in doubt by any means about the fan clutch,do change it.It is possible that you have the original one still on there. For a quick test, when you first start the vehicle in the morning, you should hear the fan "roar" for a few seconds and then the sound goes away quickly. You should wash out the exterior of the radiator with a hose/nozzle and your favorite degreaser/cleaner.
