Cruise Control Problem

Hey Folks,
Thankfully this is not for my truck but for a friends RV. He has an 04 Winabago with a Ford Chasis and a V10. When he turns the cruise control on he hears a light click. I would assume that the cruise is enableing. But when he mashes the set button nothing happens. Yes he checked the fuses and the vehicle was above the minimum speed. The RV is at the dealer now and they can't seem to find the problem, their next move is to disassemble the steering wheel and check the clock ring to make sure the contacts are good.

Any Ideas??

Thanks,
Doug

I would disassemble the steering wheel and check the clock ring....no REALLY! I would also make sure the actual switch is working.

They've hopefully checked the simple things like brake lights and brake pedal switch. If the PCM "sees" the brake lights, it'll turn cruise off.
