Exclamation Starting a 150

trucks been sitting for about a year and has little use the year before. I need to start this vehicle and am unsure the best way to do it.
-new battery
-new plugs
-used starting fluid
-I think it doesn't get gas...

Underneath the truck I followed the fuel lines to a filter below the drivers door. I removed the line and tried to see if it would spay gas with the pump turning on or some action. The line had no gas come out of it and the filter had a trickle poor out, about 4 inch splash on the concrete. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks

DID the fuel pumps kick on? did you try the other tank with the same results (assuming it's a dual tank setup)?

Sounds like the in tank electric fuel pump quit working. It is fuel injected right?

I would check the air intake, from the plenum all the way up front to the filter for critter nests. Check all vacuum lines, for integrity, look out for signs of mice that may have been gnawing on rubber hoses and wires. Pop the distributor cap off and wipe off the contacts with your finger, make sure there aren't any loose spark plug wires, press them down and twist them a little bit. Try to get some fresh gas in the tank, if dual tanks try and get about 5 gallons of fresh gas in the emptiest tank. The gas trickling out is a bad sign, either you don't have any gas, or the fuel pump is off, you should have been covered in gas when that line was disconnected, you are lucky in one respect, gas in the eyes is no fun!
There is an gas shut-off switch that may need to be reset, I'm not sure where it is on your truck, my 92 switch is behind the passenger side kick panel, (to the right of a passengers foot).

The oil should be changed, it can't hurt to squirt a little bit of oil into each spark plug hole, the rings and bore may be bone dry down there, especially since you don't know the condition of the oil pump.\
If the truck has any chance of starting, good compression, a spark, and timed correctly, then ether ( start fluid) should at least give you a little action. If you get it running I would Seafoam the intake manifold, per the label directions ( cans of Seafoam cost about 5 or 6 dollars), and run some seafoam thru the gas tank, or STP inj. cleaner. Good luck, sounds like a challenging project, keep us updated.
