Gold coolant?

Do I still have to check the coolant with the test strips? I switched from green to gold and was just wondering. Thanks Ed

No testing needed if you have the gold extended life coolant.

you dont have to check the coolant, all you have to do is change it every two years or i think 30K mi.

I believe it states to change the gold every 5 years or 100K.
I suggest 3 years or every 60K.

i just ordered some stuff , trans filter system and and cool max setup. they also have coolant filters now too!! keeps tha sand from the block from clogging up the heater core, radiator and ruining the WP bearings. not a bad deal.

I got my coolant filter setup from Bob at dieselsite, its a nice setup. I just removed my first filter and need to cut it open to see how much stuff it got. The "Gold" ELC's dont need tested from what I have read and heard from people who have switched. Thats one of the reasons I switched.

Well come on, cut that baby up! I wanna' know!

I've had mine on for about 3000 miles, going to change at 5000 unless you had your's on for less and it looks messy.
I wonder if the coolant and tranny filters are the same animal.
18v, did you get both systems?

I put a coolant filter on also. From seeing the crap I saw in the degauss bottle I can't believe they don't come with one from the factory.
