What a crappy test comparison, why didn't they give the Ford dizzy the same advance curve not the "lazy" curve that it had? The numbers would be about the same. The HP and TQ tests are at different rpm's. I will agree that in todays motors points are gone but this HP and TQ numbers differences is something suckers fall for and the companies profit. Look before you buy!

What is the duraspark max volt? Is it in the 50,000 D.U.I. range? I'm curious...
The article states that "A review of the air-fuel ratios reveals a leaner mixture, indicating more complete burn in the cylinders. The average air-fuel ratio at wide open throttle went from 12.3:1 to 12.9:1." Which is exactly what you want an engine to do...be lean and efficient.
I don't understand what you mean,
The HP and TQ tests are at different rpm's.
To me, that is impressive without any other changes to the engine. Maybe it is "marketing" strategy...but looks good on paper for sure. JMHO...
I bought it because I wanted something clean and better...it's been spinning for about 6 years give or take.parts are easy to come by..like almost everywhere.I liked dealing with the people and I just plain like the performance, reliability, looks!but note?...I tried their wires and thought they were pricey and didn't seem so much better.I have a set of Moroso Blue Max wires now,if I manage to wear them out,I'll buy a new set.
Hi seetwisted,
Appreciate your response to my previous question regarding the livewires.
When you installed the D.U.I., did you actually remove the DuraSpark ignition box? If you did, then you must have unplugged all the wires running from the inside of the cab...right? How did you "plug" all the female wire plugs?
Sorry for so many questions, but I just installed my D.U.I. this weekend (haven't started the truck yet)...and want to know if I am missing something...before attempting to fire it up.
For those that might be interested I just called the tech dept at Performance Distributors...and during the D.U.I. install...it is ok to unplug/remove the DuraSpark ignition box...plus coil.
I guess I am going to "cap" the female plugs that come out of the firewall...just for electrical safety reasons.
I guess with all the added room under the hood, I am going to go with a dual battery setup...OR...humm still thinking...
