Wow- your flareside looks great! I bet that is a blast to drive.

What is the story on the 9 inch rears? What years can I swap into my 83 f150 supercab to get a traction lok?

Thanks, and yes its a huge blast to drive, espically in the twisties when following hot headed firechicken drivers, sure pisses them off when they can't get away .

Yep as long as the rear is from an 80-86 it will bolt in no problem (you can use earlier truck housing as well but the spring pad's need to be moved outwards). But you can use any 9" trac loc third member you want to use(be sure to rebuild it though as used ones are usually wore out) in it, but stick with 31spline axles, as the 28spliners are a huge hassle to find the right lenght axles, as the 31spliners were the same lenght from 76 up to 82-83 (trust me on this, as the 28spliners had different lenghts almost every year).

Yep no problem. Just be sure you take only the tools you need though as you might end up coming back with something more than seats/3rd member .

WHOOOOOO --------------HHHHOOOOOOO

I had to go to a jobsite today and guess what?- Passed a junkyard on the way and stopped coming back by -and scored!

I got a set of front seats from a 1996 lariat with the two buckets and center seat/console for $50.00 They are tan cloth no rips or holes but the plastic cup holder is torn slightly.

Did I do good?

Geez, i must be really lucky. i got a f-series bench seat from the local pull-a-part for like 30 bucks just a few weeks ago. Man, i love the pull a part junkyards. its the best place to get all of the little screws, bolts, plugs, and all the other little thing a ma jiggies that old trucks seem to lose all the time, plus, they dont charge for hardware, just the part, and they dont care what brand the part is, or what it is made of.

I know it has been a couple days since this the last comment, but I have a question that fits right in to all of this. I have an 82 F150 with a bench seat and as of yesterday I got a set of bucket seats from a 91 Bronco. The bucket seats do not fit exactly, I thought atleast the outside bolts would line right up but they don't.
To make a long story short I stopped right there before I started doing something I may have regretted. So here I am, I want to know if there is something obvious that I should do. I believe they also may need to be raised up 2 to 3 inches.
Anyways I am gathering ideas, experience from others that have been where I am now. I would rather get a plan that works and then start drilling holes or fabricating. Thanks

Well i encountered this when i put 96 Eddie Bauer bronco seats in mine, i had to drill 4 new holes Used 1/4" stock underneath each part of the floor where i drilled. Plus the inner floor has to be reinforced because the floor pan wasn't setup for bolts in the middle. Passenger seat is a pain. Ended up having to bend the bracket a little to make it fit, didn't have my welder at the time, I'm probably going to end up redoing the passenger side so that it it's a secure fit and that the floor pan doesn't flex. I've noticed the newer trucks have and extra piece of metal "pounded" and glued to the top of the pan, probably to reinforce the pan for buckets.

So yall are saying that any 80-86 bronco bucket seats will fit into any 80-86 f-series, and all i have to do is to drill 4 holes in the pan and reinforce it? that is so freakin sweet.

I'm not sure, but I can tell that a set of buckets out of 91 Bronco will not fit so easily into an 82 F150.

They will, as all the floor pans are the same between the bronco and trucks where the seats go.

There are some slight differences, as the seats that I got out of a bronco didn't fit exactly on my truck. The driver side will fit but you do have to drill 4 holes for that set. And some modifcation has to be done to the bracket on the pass side. Now, This may just be a difference between the later broncos.
