Sub behind rear seat back 05 supercrew?

Prior to pealing the rear seat apart to look, any one had luck mounting an 8inch sub back there? I only need 0.3 cu ft for the JL sub I bought?

The car audio place I bought the system from said they mount behind the seat in 04 /05 SC, but on this forum I have found no good threads talking about it.

Thnx

Come on guys I can't be the first to look at putting a sub behind the seat of a 04 05 Supercrew. Will one fit?

That really does not sound feasible to me. Those back seats are not all that thick to begin with and they are smack up against the back wall. Seems like whomever of your passengers has to sit with their back to the sub would be slighlty uncomfortable at best.

The factory solution was to mount it under the rear seat on the floor, on the drivers side. Is that not a feasible solution for you?
Mine is under their and is pretty unobtrusive.

I took the rear seat back out tonight and no way a sub will go in there. I think amps could go in the back if not to deep. As you suggested I will have to place under the rear seat, I just did not want to give up the storage space as it is limited allready.

I do have some extra room now that I found the secret compartment under the front centre seat.

Amps fit quite nicely back there. I have two in place driving the fronts and subs. I opted for the sub box that fits under the seat housing 2 10 inchers. It sounds great for the limited space it has. If you do a search, you will find a tone of posts (inlcuding my own) on various systems members have thrown together. The variety in what you can do for the money is quite diverse.

Good Luck!
