Tailpipe interchange?

Tailpipe interchange?
Will the 48-52 tailpipe #8C-5255 also fit a '53 with standard muffler/exhaust? I don't mind some minor cutting, etc. but would like it fairly close.

According to the parts books, it's different. The 48-52 pickup pipe is 79 inches, panel truck is 88.5 inches long. The 53-56 truck was 88.5 inches long. The 53-56 panel was 96 inches long. Some of the repo ones are supposed to be the same, probably have to cut to fit.
