The new Lincoln "F -150" - 2006 Mark LT

I saw this at the Lincoln dealer this weekend. Lots of chrome, including some fancy chrome wheels. It's basically my 04 Lariat with more chrome.

Opinion shopping here, what do others think?

Nice looking truck, loaded out for about 46k, I'd like to drive one to see how it rides compared to an F150 I would imagine the Lincoln would ride a little better, at least I hope it would.

I wouldnt expect it to perform or ride any differently than an F-150 since its basically a rebadged F-150 with different body cladding and nicer colors on the interior. Personally, I actually like the styling and would rather have one if it was comparable in price to an F-150, but at about 4-5k more than a lariat I would choose the lariat. Another benfefit of the lincoln (although not worth 4k) is their better warranty and free scheduled maintenance program.

IMO - a little over the top - but for competition's sake glad to see Lincoln with a viable alternative to the Caddy truck. And the fact that it is so close in price to the F-150 should see it sell fairly well (as compared to the Blackwood sales flop). It does present us lucky F-150 owners with a chance to order a few nice parts to dress up out trucks a bit.....I've already installed the mirrors and have the door handles on the way. Tailgate handle is installed as well. Don't think I'll get the grill as it just wouldn't look right to have a Lincoln grill on a Ford....

I just got my 2005 Lariat Screw and added stainless to the rocker panels and chrome door handles (not LT's), and sure get alot of looks and thumbs up. Cost me about a whole $150 so far, and I still think the average Joe wouldn't know the Lincoln if it bit him. I have black, so I don't feel the LT handles would really make that much of a difference as they already are black (pebble finished plastic, not paint, of course). I'll pass on the grill, too.

hmmmm smoke - you have a pic of your stainless installed? I'm not sure if it's a bit too much for me or not - would like to see yours if possible....I have the black "mono" paint and was wondering about the stainless.....did you get the LT stainless?

I just saw that commercial with the Lincoln truck pulling the Caddilac truck AND boat trailer out of the water. Gotta love it.

Just on a side note.
Who else feels that rebadging a Ford Fusion (a 3.0l V6 economy sedan) and calling it a Lincoln Zephyr (which was originally one of the mose beautiful vehicles available, and had V12 power) is a bit sacreligous?

Hmm...I wouldn't know either vehicle if I saw one. The only Zephyr I know of, was a Mercury, didn't have V12 power (I-6), and wasn't much better looking than a K-car.

But, in concept, I would say that is sacreligious.

Maybe we can see a Ford in a rap music video for once! Well its basically a ford. I'd love to see my redneck truck in a rap video. Have them put some 24" chrome spinning rims on it for the video. Have some dancer chicks "grinding" on my fenders...

anyways, I think its gonna be another cadillac escalade pick-up truck, a nice looking truck thats never used for work and sits in the garge over night.

The Blackwood was a bad idea and so is this.

I will snag a photo this afternoon and post it. It is not the LT stainless, but I will say that I have been doing vinyl graphics and striping since about 1987, and all the stainless/chrome products I have seen to date don't come close to this. It really looks sharp and has the fill adhesive backing, not strips like some. Incidently, my wife who likes vehicles "plain jane" really likes it, too. I think you may be surprised. I'll post as soon as I can.

HotLap,
Got a quick picture up in my gallery with the stainless. I'll try for a better one when the rig is clean this weekend. Let me know what you think.

Very sharp looking. Where did you get the stainless on the rocker panels at? I like the full look you have there.
