underdrive pulleys on 4x4?

underdrive pulleys on 4x4?
I was thinkin of getting some nderdrive pulleys for my 5.0 F150 4x4 but have heard that you shouldnt use them on 4x4. I was just wondering why and what it could mess up. My truck is stock except for shorty headers and dual exhaust. Any help would be appreciated.

also your electic system takes a hit because now the alt is moving slower and not giving the proper charge to the system. you really wont see a gain from them , save your cash for some other mod like a cam, intake or throttlebody
