73, Why wont the 3 spd work on the 4spd bell? He is not swapping autos that would require complete swaps. I am not up on the manuals myself to say for sure.
didn't the "3 on the tree" and the top loaders have a different bolt pattern? i know all the 3 tree ones had the same pattern and the top loaders had the same pattern.
on a side note no one i know of other than the 500 bucks racing versions makes bell housings for our fe engines you would need to find one in a bone yard or ebay.

I think the bellhousing of the 4-speed has a different bolt pattern (where the trans bolts to the bellhousing) than the 3-speed. I'm not totally sure but I think I've heard that somewhere before.
Yeah I could find for sure if the bolt patter for the tranny to bellhousing is the same from 3 to 4 speed. Thats why I asked on here, hoping some one here would know for sure.
