I have a 1990 f-150 5 speed 4.9L. I can't stand that buzzer when you leave the door open with the keys in. I tried to pull the fuse, but it's also connected to the radio, glovebox light,etc.... I was wondering if anyone knows how to get at the buzzer it's self to unwire it.
Thanks, i'll try tomarrow, The mechanic at the ford dealership i work at had no clue, he thought i might have to take the dash out. That sounds easier.
haha, maybe it's a chime if it's ans XLT, but if it's an XL model, I know its no polite little chime. It sounds more like EEEEEARZRZRZRZRZRZRZRZRZRZRZRZ
What I did was unscrewed the button on the driver's side door and clipped one wire. There were three. One controls the internal light, one is ground, and the other controls the buzzer. You can short the terminals and figure out which is which. It also disables the headlight buzzer, though. Which can come in handy sometimes.
There's a way to disable it through the ignition key, but I don't know what it is.
