Trans Temp runnig high

A little back ground, back in February I had to have my 4R100 trans rebuilt at 82K miles. I have since but 11K on the trans and I have noticed since summer is starting to role in here that my tranny temps jump up to 190 real quick and thats without pulling anything, I'm real concerned for when I pull my 30' TT. I took it to the tranny guy and he checked it out and said that everything seemed okay only that the trans cooler was behind the ac condensor and that may transmit some heat but before the rebulid I don't remeber the temps averaging that high. Could the higher temps be because the trans tolerances are tighter now? I also had him install a deep dish aluminum trans pan to try and help bring the temps down. Am I being a little to causious here? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

i dunno... other guys here report temps that high when it's hot outside... but i don't run anywhere near that high... just over 140 driving around empty all afternoon in 85-90 degree heat.. that's as high as i've seen it...

edit: i'm thinking you may need another cooler... but put it out in front of the condenser...

Actually it is behind the A/C condenser from the factory. And yes temps that high in the summer are normal (for these trucks) But it is still NOT NORMAL for what it truly should be running. Hence I put a TRU-COOL MAX in my trauck and have never seen temps over 180 towing a 35 ft 5er or 150 empty. 130 to185 are normal operating temps and I would shoot for those numbers with the largest cooler you can buy.

yeah sorry I was refering to the SD, not too sure about the OBS.

As for the TRU-COOL go to dieselsite.com and do a search for the TRU-COOL MAX. it runs about 135.00.

Here is the link
