Serpentine belt warning
Just a reminder to check the serpentine belt. Mine was a little worn, had one in the shop but did not get round to changing untill today! Mine broke, wrapped around the crank pulley, whipped around and tore out the trans cooler lines. The tensioner pulley was not in great shape (left hand thread) so decided to replace. Replaced and was tightning it up an the threads stripped, good old pot metal or similar. Long story short many $$$ later back together. Check your belt!!!!

I just happenend to check my serp belt last night. Every time I work under the hood I see that big chunk of insulation missing and reminds me to take a quick look at it. I don't want to go through having one shread apart again. I now keep a spare under the back seat just in case.

Good point-mine did the same thing, ripped the tranny lines right off, and left me stranded with a trailer along the road. They were able to find me though, just followed the trail left by transmission fluid!
