I'm buying a used Ranger that is in excellent condition except for the seats. The material is all frayed and looks pretty bad. I want to replace these for a reasonable amount of money. I'm not sure If I'm crazy about the idea of just a slipcover that looks cheap. I want something that looks good and is comfortable and would prefer a cover that replaces the stock ones. I've done seats this way in the past so I know what to expect. Where can I get a set of these and how much can I expect to spend?
If you know any other places that sell quality slip covers let me know and I'll look into that too.
From what I've seen, the actual replacement cloth is pretty spendy, even if it's from an aftermarket manufacturer. I'm not much of a fan of seat covers either. But if you're looking for bang for the buck, I'd scope out used seats in a junkyard. Odds are, if your cloth is hammered the foam is not in the best of shape either. This problem is reduced/eliminated with junkyard seats if you shop around.
Found this site while surfing the net one day. Don't know what they charge, but there stuff really looks nice. Give them a call and see if they're in your price range. All it will cost is the price of the call.
If you want vinyl, look at "LMC Truck Parts and Accessories" and "Raybuck Body Parts". Not sure if they do Rangers though. I once bought vinyl seat upholstry (covers) from J.C. Whitney for a Datsun pickup (took the original upholstry off and put the new on with hog rings) and was really pleased with the way it turned out.

Do this....I replaced the seats in Ranger with seats from a Bronco II for $150.00 the junkyard through in the center console ( I upgraded from the bench seats to buckets) The seats were like new and bolted right in
I got a set of replacement seat covers from Marathon Seat Covers, in Bozeman, Montana. Though they said they could be installed with the seats in the vehicle, I found it easier to remove the seats. They have a very detailed and informative web site, just google "marathon seat bozeman" (w/o the quotes)and you should find it. My custom seat covers were "Antelope" in color, which matches the interior well, and they cost aroound $200 delivered. Don't buy the console cover, though, it's horrible.
