frame?

i own a 1980 bronco and i was wondering if i had a boxed or a C-frame? what is the difference? Could that be the reason why they dont make a lift kit for the 1980? i take it a C-frame would look like ] ? and the boxed []? thank you for your time.

The Bronco frame is a full box. Lift manufacturers don't list it because there was a nasty rumor at one time that the 1980 models differed from their later counterparts in some way. Within the past three months another 1980 Bronco owner posted photos of the underside of his truck and from what any of us here can glean from those photos 1980 models are just like the 81-96 frames and suspension.

lol. that was me who posted those pics. in another post however someone was saying that later broncos had a boxed frame, and earlier ones had a c frame. the c frame is supposedly stronger and does not allow for bending of the body, which can crack the removable top. did i miss read this or what? i'll see if i can find out which post it was.
