quick question

quick question im thinking of buying a 1989 ranger standard 4x4 2.9l and i was wondering if a part for the 4 wheel would work on it from my 90 ranger xlt 4x4 2.9l. it was something like the half shaft or w/e im not sure on name but some sorta shaft. but i was wondering if they woul;d be interchangeable. thanks.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think Ford had 2-3 different Trans and transfer cases that they used in 89-90. You would have to see if the 89 has the same model trans as the 90.

i didnt think that would really matter for just the one part on the 4 wheel system seeings how its just one thing that blew out.

thanks for the site but i didnt find what i needed and ill try the junkyard but i live in a small town!!! so i dont know if there will be too much.
