Well... I Did It.
I have been monitoring the fuel economy, and so far over 2,200 miles - mostly rural/suburban driving, I have averaged the mid 17's. I am an easy driver. I am not impressed with the quickness of the 5.4L, but I didn't expect it would keep up with my old 6.0L diesel. I hauled about four yards of wet mulch on my 1,000# trailer, so I guess maybe about 2,500-3,000 pounds, and i didn't even know it was back there. That's all the weight I will probably haul for now. That booming audiophile with blackleather is sweet. Makes me wish my commute was longer to work. That lousy hour and a half is too short.
She's a loaded Lariat. Black. All that is missing is the reverse sensors, bed extender, and flow-through console. I don't miss any of it. She's my first black truck, and I don't think anything is more purdy when clean! I added an ARE lid, bed mat, and stainless rockers last night. The chrome handles (just the centers) will go on tonight, along with the smoke ventvisors and bug shield. I just love it. And even if it turn out to be a piece of !@#$ (and I doubt it), it will only be around until next year this time. Then, it may be another F-150... of a new 2007 SuperDuty. Thanks for the interesting F-150 reading. I probably wouldn't have made the crossover without FTE!
Thank god for the gangsta rapper who was all to pleased to offer top dollar for my used Escalade!!
