Alright this has been posted probably a 1000 times but here it goes anyway,
I have a '04 5.4 F250 , I put a flowmaster 70 series on it a couple months ago and it just isn't floating the boat, you can't even really tell the differance from stock. Would bumping up to a 50 series do the trick,I don't want a screamer but definatley want it noticeable, that nice deep rumble when you start it up and it just sounds throaty, any help????
I second the 40...I am having an original 40 installed in a couple of weeks 3" in / dual 2.5" out...I am installing the magnaflow on my wifes 5.4l expidition check out the website for some sound bites
I have a 2003 f-250 5.4 that I just put the Flowmaster 40 on 3" in / dual 2.5 out.
It sounds great, but now I get a check engine light, 02 sensor code shows bank 2.
I've tried diconnecting the battery to clear the code, this works fine until the 7th or so time I start my truck then the code comes back. This didn't happen until I changed the exhaust.
Has this happened to anyone else?? Anyone have any suggestions?
I have the hypertech programer. I called flowmaster tech support, they said disconnect the battery for about 1/2 hour, then drive it hard for a couple of miles the computer may have to relearn the airflow.
I don't know, i tried it and the light hasn't come on yet, but it seems to come on just after starting it like the first rush of air throws it off.
I don't know which series mine is but it is a large 3 chamber flowmaster. Have had no issues with check engine light. I also have a mild hypertech program setting (for 87 octane).
The 40 is loud and drones. I went with a 50 on the V10, and it doesn't drone like a 40 inside the cab. The 70 is just like a stocker.
I think the 40 may be to loud for my taste and really don't want all that droning inside the cab, which 50 did you go with? The Detla or the Truck/Suv? I notice the 2 on Flowmasters website.
And why the hell is there not one darn exhaust manufacturing website with a sound gallery of any Superduty's with there exhaust systems.Ton's of other trucks. Now that is annoying
Well I changed the sensor behind the cat, the real name is "catalytic converter efficiency sensor". I drove it around for a while, shut the engine down a few times and restarted it. So far no check engine light and the truck seems to have more power, hopefully I solved the problem.
