So I finally ordered a Warn Winch bumper a few days ago and supposedly it comes with a mounting kit for my truck (73 F250, bumper was listed for 73-79 F-250/350). It had two plates shaped like C's, two plates shaped like Z's, two big plates for the top of the bumper, one license plate bracket and a bag full of hardware.....but no instructions.
I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how it's supposed to mount to the truck. I tried putting the brackets it came with in every possible location, but nothing would even be close to being sturdy enough for a bumper, let alone one meant for the loads exerted by a winch. I even took the stock bumper brackets and tried placing them in all sorts of positions to no avail. Am I missing something? I cannot find any information on Warn's site or even parts lists for what it's supposed to come with. I've found lots of pictures of these trucks with this bumper from the outside, but no pictures of how it was mounted.
Does anybody have any pictures showing how this bumper is mounted to their trucks? Any help would be greatly appreicated...
I looked at the pic, and can't get a clear picture on how it's supposed to fit. I would definetly give Warn a call and see about tech support. They may have just simply forgot to put the instructions in the package...Let us know what happens, because I plan on ordering the same type bumper for my truck!!
Problem solved, The hardware kit was on backorder and will be shipped in about a week or two. I just wish they would have told me earlier! And more good news, I was able to reclock the clutch engagement ring on the MM E-9000 winch to mount in the upright position on said bumper. Its all coming together nicely
