Just my opinion from the one I have in the exploder, they are great but they WILL leak. The best place I have found is a company up in Port Orchard Washington, they guarantee thiers not to leak for 8yrs and that about the best you will get.
many years ago i had one installed in a 70 Ford Truck and it never leaked...ever! of course i had to remember to keep it closed though!
I believe it was installed by the Windshield shop here in Wichita...but that was like 20 years ago. Call around to the auto glass shops and see what they have to offer.
There used to be a placi in Wichita that did them years ago. Not sure if they are still around though. Place was called Rollers and they were on 2nd street.
The moon roof in my old 84 never leeked. Don't know who made it though. Nice to look up and see the stars when I slept in the back. But if there is a full moon it will stab you in the eye and wake you up. And it was hotter in the summer with the glass up there. Not saying do or don't just letting you know what I remember.
Jack, I think your sunroof was factory. I really liked yours, and would enjoy one in my B2 without leaks. I was just curious in anyone still installed aftermarket ones.
The B2 does run, just needs a timing light on it and some very minor adjusting to the carb. It`s even insured. But it will need a new brakeline(s) and there may be a title issue as well. I haven`t had time to tag it yet, and wasn`t going to until it was ready. All I need is more cash, and more time.
Swede, I hear you on the cash and time thing. Seems like I either run out of money, time or both on everything I dig into. My uncle made a sunroof in his car when we were kids with a shotgun. I guess that is why you aren't supposed to have a loaded gun in a car when you go pheasant hunting. hehe.
Yup! I'm in the same boat. I'll only be home for two weeks from now till the middle of August. Kind of hard to save up money to finish "Jr." when I'm gone spending it.
I never did open that moon roof on the 84 I had. I was afraid it would start leaking. Yellow pages for Wichita shows two places. One is Safelite Auto Glass warehouse on E. Murdock. The other is Stylecraft Auto Upholstery on N. Mosley.
