Chapter swap! (new to FL)

Hello all! This is trinogt, originally from the FTE Alberta chapter in western Canada. I am now living in South Florida, in West Palm Beach. My trucks are still in Canada, but I hope to have one here in the fall. (76 F150 Ranger XLT Trailer Special Supercab with 460/C6. I don't see many old Fords here at all, and I am VERY disappointed! The junkyards have nothing interesting beyond the mid 80's. NO OLD FORDS! Hard to even spot one on the road.
Anyway, I will likely be moving to the Orlando area by midsummer or fall. I like it there better. I hope to hook up with some members some time! Especially owners of '67-'79 trucks.
Glad to be here!
Mark

Welcome. I am in the Orlando area and I am new to the board too. I dont post much because I dont know anyone and my automotive knowledge is limited but I want that to change. I have a 2003 Ranger Edge and I eventually want to do some mods. I would like to get some ideas from people to make the truck look and perform better. Maybe we can meet up sometime

Hey guys, Welcome.

Mark, I lived in WPB for many years and unless you go out to the Loxahatchee or RPB Acreage area, you won't see any old truck in your year range. As for junk yard finds down there, that ain't gonna happen either. You either have to go out to Okeechobee or some other county.

We moved up to the Ocala area last December and love it. It's a gold mine up here for older vehicles & parts. Love it.

Hey folks! Nice to see some life in Florida! Dave, those Rangers are nice trucks! I hope you can get what you want done to your rig.
Carlene, I have been to those acreages west on Okeechobee; I live just on the border of RPB, on Benoist Farms RD. I haven't ventured deep into the area, but I know the place you speak of...
Our move, believe it or not, will be to your neck of the woods! Ocala, Leesburg, Wildwood... Somewhere in there. I love it up there, so much more than the Palm Beaches. I missed out on a near-mint '78 F150 just outside of Leesburg (west on 44) for a great price a few years back, when I was just a visitor in '99. I like your 'goldmine' description! That's what it was like back home in Calgary, and I really miss it.
What did you think of the Beaches while you were here? I think it's crazy. No one knows how to drive, over-populated in the winter, WAY overpriced homes, etc...
What are you driving?
Mark

Mark, I do not know what I want to do to it yet. I have to wait until I finish paying for a few things and take my vacation to NY in Sept. Then I can maybe tint the windows, change the look of the guages and dash as a start.

My dad's bday is sept 10. I am from ny originally. I plan on seeing him and going to ground zero for a memorial and go see a yankees game. I am taking him to cooperstown also for his bday. Going to see my uncle in long island. I havent seen him since May 2001. But as soon as thats done I want to change the dash, the meters, windows. I always could use help if you know people that do that themselves

Ok, relocated to Leesburg now. All settled in, ready to get back to normal! Very nice town. Nice small town feel and charm; just the way I like! Lots of old Fords around, too.
