Question Codes 452 & 327

92 F-150 302 Xtra cab 4x4 168k
Codes 452 & 327
I don't understand how to fix either codes. I can do a lot of stuff on my own. Like replacing waterpump and the usual stuff but I do depend a bit on my Chiltons truck bible for general direction. For code 327 do I need to R&R my EVP sensor or EGR ? Or is it the wiring, it looks good. For code 452 I am completly clueless . Help please I love my truck but it is my 5th Ford and it is making me think this one might be jinxd. No problems with either one of my Exploders and they went to 200k and higher. Without any major problems or repairs both were 4.0. My F-150 is on it's 3rd 302 . I bought it in Feb 05 and it had 175k and 10k later I found out the hard way that the piston had a huge chunk missing, it was cheaper to replace than rebuild. I also found out at that time that that one was not original. So here I am. The bottom half is from another rig and the top is from the one I had bought the truck with. Don't know what to do.
Thanks,
Kallie

For code 452, go back to the rearend and see if you have a sensor with some wires coming out of it screwed into the housing. If you do, this is the speed sensor. Take it out and see if you have metal shavings on the sensor. Clean it up and check the wiring to see if it's in good shape, and then put it back and see if the code goes away.

If you do not have the sensor in the rearend, then look for it at the end of the speedo cable where it plugs into the transmission or transfer case. Make sure the wiring is ok.

327 is saying there is something wrong with the egr valve, or it's sensor. The first thing I would do is take it off and make sure it's not stuck or that it's not all clogged up with carbon. If that doesn't fix it, you may want to buy a new potientiometer for it(EVP sensor). It's the part that mounts on top of the egr valve, and has wires going to it. It sends out a varying voltage to tell the computer how far the egr valve is open. This is what is giving the error to the computer.
