update! I was at MIS all weekend, in the pits and around town. I met DW, Hammond and Steve Byrnes after the Trackside broadcast. I ran into Bobby Hamilton on pit road before the truck race, and got a picture with him, as well as Erin Crocker before the ARCA race. I met and talked to Jason Jarrett (DJ's son, filling in for Billy Venturini in the ARCA series), he's a nice kid, just like his pops!
The best part was dinner in Ann Arbor after the Truck race saturday, at Damons. David Starr was there alone relaxing drinking beer, and we watched the Busch race together. He's a really cool guy, I'm totally a fan now (couldn't say that about any Chevy driver before, heh).
Who have you met that is or was famous or infamous?
It can be anyone from any walk of life.
Over the years ,here are a few.
Warren Moon\ former Oiler QB
Evander Holyfiled \ former boxer & champ
Michael Jordon \ Basketball Star

Lee Haney \ bodybuilder
Ladybird Johnson \ former first lady
My wife saw James Gandolfini today at Dutch Wonderland. It's a small amusement park for kids in Lancaster, PA (where the movie Witness was filmed).
Is that place still open?
I too met a bunch of the Flyers from that time period. Hanging out behind the old coliseum in NJ...you too maa139?
Out in Chi-town...we were drinking with the owner of a bar, when Furio--from the Sopranos--walked in. The owner excused himself, even apologized for leaving us, saw him, shook his hand, and came back to us....3 schlubs in a bar. Also saw Keanu Reaves filming a movie out there.
at a state fair back a few years ago I met Kevin Sharp, kenny chesney. both were performing , after the show I took my kids to the back of the building to see them before they loaded up on there buss, and was able to get a few pictures of them with my son.
Was stationed in Phoenix back in the late 60's and my girlfriend at the time wanted to go to this fancy restaurant up in Scottsdale with another couple. Don't remember the name of the place but the owner had one on each side of the street ... referred to as ______ East and ______ West. Anyway the piano player was introducing celebrity guests of the evening and started our with "New York columnist Mr. Earl Wilson" and there he was, "Bawdy songstress Miss Rusty Warren" and she stood up. She then announced "and King of the Cowboys, Mr. Roy Rogers" to which I quipped, "Oooooh suurrrreee ..." and he stood up at the table next to us. Yup, it was him ... and I don't think he heard me ...
Here's a celeb from the past that I met at a club in Minneapolis .... Professor Irwin Corey. He used to do the nighttime TV show circuit. He was an absolute blast!!! Just as wacked in person!! If he were around today he'd be a high level spokesman for the Bush administration.
Garrison Keeler used to frequent where I work ... what a self-important jerk!
Jack Green
Sylvia
Kenny Price
Anson Williams

When in college and working for Domino's Pizza we were called upon to deliver a bunch of pizza to the Metrodome where the Tigers (owned by the CEO of Dominos at the time) were playing the Twins in the ALCS. The Tigers lost so someone gave us the bums rush at their locker room, however the Twins guys said "bring it all in here." So I saw a few Twins, though I never shook anyone's hand or anything.
and Mike Singleterry walked past our table to go to the john after a Bears game back in the 1980s.
and I can believe that Garrison Keeler was a jerk. He's not too bad on the radio, but have you read any of his stuff? Talk about EGO with a capital E.
Spoke with Jeff Gordon once & stalked his ex-wife Brooke
Been in Tony Stewarts house to help set-up a suprise birthday party for his a few years ago in Cornelius. Funny thing is he was helping set it up also.
Was in Long Beach last year and stopped at West Coast Choppers to look at the bikes, Jesse James was there.
Dale Earnhardt. DEI was just a few miles from my house when I lived in Mooresville. Never met Jr. though.
Now my mind is boggled. I know I met more people, but can't remember who they are now.
I met "JYD" back in '96. For those of you who do not know what "JYD" stands for it stands for the one and only Junkyard Dog. He was taking pictures and signing autographs at the local Wal-Mart and even though he was way past his day it was cool to talk with him about such career highlights like his match with Harley Race at Wrestlemania III. It amazed me he became a college professor, forgot what he taught, but you never think of a professional wrestler taking on such a career once wrestling is over for them. He died a few short years later in a car accident as he was on his way to see his kid's graduation. Truly sad but the picture I took with him still brings a smile to my face.
