I finally finished my Dads 'Old Red'. My Dad bought this truck new in April of 63. It spent its life on the farm and was the first thing I ever drove. The restoration took me one year. I did all the work except the seat. Hopefully more pics to come, but I delivered it back to him last weekend and haven't seen it since.
Check out the pics that I have.
Thanks for all the great responses. He always was proud of that truck. You couldn't get the smile off his face last weekend when I delivered it. It was a lot of work, but well worth it.
Thanks again.
dz....my hats off to you....but as much a pain it was at times...all of that dissappeared as soon as you saw the reaction....I think you took care of Fathers Day for all the forgotten years and all the others to come....awesome job....2 thumbs way way up!!!!
The fronts may be old Goodyears, I can't recall. They've been on there a looong time. The rears were put on about '87 from the local co-op. I remember that because thats when I drove it to high school.
The hood lip was in pretty good shape, a little bit of rust, but not too bad. hardest part of the hood was the kink one us kids put in it from sitting on it in our younger years.
