I have some pictures in my gallery of the floorpan and cab mount replacement. What are you cutting it out with? I had no problems using an air driven skill saw kind of cutting tool. It used 4" chunks of hacksaw blade, which cut about 12" of metal before they needed to be changed. It all came out in sections. It took me 3 full days to do one side....
I really don't see how you can cut the cab mount out and leave in the floorpan without making a mess. My experiance told me it was EASIER to replace them both. Replacememnt panels aren't expensive, and if you are going to tear up the truck, might as well do it right.
PS I didn't have to remove gas tanks or any other mounts to do this...
I'm replacing the floor pans also but for two reasons. A previous owner was a believer in bondo and it came out in chunks and the second reason is the holes left by the chunks coming out and needing something to weld to. I'm using a jig saw and a cutting grinder. If my floor pan had been in good shape, I could've gotten the front cab mount off without damaging the floor.
I'm replacing all the bushings so the gas tank had to come out so that I could access the bolt heads of the rear cab mounts. I took the seat out just to have room. It's a lotta work but it's coming together nicely so far.
