Awful day today. Got in a accident at work. Was backing a 04 F150 out
of a parking spot with two other large vehicles on either side couldn't see
out of either side so i'm creeping back looking left when BAM I get nailed
by a ford lightning from the right. Caught the right back corner off my truck
and pushed it 4 feet into the truck parked to the left of me and then crushes
the middle of the bed in. The lightnen ended up lossing the front bumper
cushing in the right front fender and bending the wheel. I say the guy driving
the lightning had to be doing at least 30-35 in the parking lot to move my
truck that far with that damage. My boss says it my fault because he had
the right away. No video to back me up. Boss doesn't think he was going that
fast. I say just look at the damage. what do you guys think. either way its
been a crappy day all around. Ok i got it out now thanks for listening.
if he moved your truck that far, SIDEWAYS, he had to at least have been above the 'acceptable speed limit' in a parking lot. I'd file a police report if no one seems to be on your side, and maybe, maybe something will happen.
I wasn't my truck it was a customers truck i was pulling in to the shop.
It was in the parking lot so they didn't file anything. One funny thing about
it was the customer saw it and he wasn't even mad. He was like accidents
happen no big deal. He said he would like the truck fix by tuesday if he could.
He wasn't even mad at me. He pointed at a scratch in the front bumper and
asked me if we did that. Then he starts laughing and says i'm just joking I did
it when i bought the truck.
If the Lightning hit you that hard, he was going too fast, and if he always drives like that in parking lots, sooner or later he was going to hit someone anyway. Too bad it happened to be you.
At least here in CT, the speed limit in parking laws is 10. It's not enforced but if you're in an accident going more than 10 then it becomes an issue. He was defintely going more than 10. Unfortunatly, because you were the one backing out, it's your fault. But any way you look at it, yes, he was going too fast.
