oil seperator

Hi, can anyone tell me what an oil seperator exactly does and it's advantages. I have been looking around the internet and seen some Triton motors with these spliced into the PCV. Would it also screw up my warranty? Thanks.

I've only seen them on the supercharged trucks (lighting and harley). Under boost oil can be blown past the PCV valve and it gets on the throttle body.

You can use them on NA motors as well. You splice them into your 3/8" PCV line. You can buy them at several Lightning tuner sites or make your own. You buy the Campbell Hausfeld mini separator fromWal-Mart and several 3/8" fittings and boom..a $50 rip off has been reduced to $15.
