I recently bought a house and in the garage I found a short block. I am trying to determine what type of engine it is. I have the casting number D4DE-6015-BA. I have found some info on the web, but not enough to conclusively determine what size engine it is.

The previous owner did own a Shelby Cobra and stated the engine was 427. If anyone can lend me some assistances I'd appreciate it.

 

acording to my part # decoder, your block is from a 74 maverick, and that would make it a 302

 

I appreciate you help in finding out what size the engine is. Any idea what a 74 Maverick 302 engine is worth?

 

without knowing the condition of the internals, you might get $100 for it.
