Sounds bad to me

New oil is so cheap, that a engine with used oil from the start, I would not feel like I changed it at all.

I would not have that good feeling when I get done with the oil change either, or that good feeling with a full tank....

Just my thoughts

i installed a pump that pumps the oil from the pan into the fuel tank. i also installed larger fuel filters and removed the factory one. turn a valve on the line, click a switch , walla . install new filters and new oil . over 150,000 miles and still going strong. i drive 3200 miles a week and change the oil every week and the filters once a month. in this time i had 2 injectors replaced and the injector wireing harness. i also use used veggie oil and trans fluid, gear oil. no change in power,,,sometimes smells bad if u use to much oil or trans fluid. if anyone wants ,,send me an e-mail and i'll tell u more.

I have started running two stroke oil because i read that lubes up the inside but isn't think like reg oil, I would never put used oil down the tank, anyone else here run two stroke oil? I also run diesel kleen every fill up both the two stroke and the diesel kleen about 32 oz. total every fill

I have been doing this for around 15,000 miles now first it runs thru a 2 micron filter?water seperator then she goes into the tanks 50% winter 70% or more the rest of the year. while she'll run on straight filtered WMO she wont start on 100% first time in the morning. pull the GP's every 60 days or so to brush the coke off, save enough in 6 mo's to pay for my next IP & nozzels.

yep, running 10 oz of two stroke in 17 gal fill up. like the way it seems to smooth out roughness, or maybe it's my imagination. found out this week that all the stations here have gone to the ultra low sulfur 15 ppm fuel at $3 per gallon. may increase the dose of two stroke up a few ounces. add 16 oz of diesel kleen every third tank and it does seem to make large difference in performance. if i ever get ram air built and exhaust opened up, (just need time) hope to notice even more.

so how does the viscosity of atf and motor oil compare to that of diesel fuel? Any blending involved? I have been running filtered and blended wvo in my 1990 e350 and my mercedes and have awesome results, but i do have to blend it with about 5% RUG.

AVIATION TURBINE FUEL (JET FUEL)

CIVIL JET FUELS

Aviation turbine fuels are used for powering jet and turbo-prop engined aircraft and are not to be confused with Avgas. Outside former communist areas, there are currently two main grades of turbine fuel in use in civil commercial aviation : Jet A-1 and Jet A, both are kerosene type fuels. There is another grade of jet fuel, Jet B which is a wide cut kerosene (a blend of gasoline and kerosene) but it is rarely used except in very cold climates.

JET A-1

Jet A-1 is a kerosene grade of fuel suitable for most turbine engined aircraft. It is produced to a stringent internationally agreed standard, has a flash point above 38°C (100°F) and a freeze point maximum of -47°C. It is widely available outside the U.S.A. Jet A-1 meets the requirements of British specification DEF STAN 91-91 (Jet A-1), (formerly DERD 2494 (AVTUR)), ASTM specification D1655 (Jet A-1) and IATA Guidance Material (Kerosine Type), NATO Code F-35.

JET A

Jet A is a similar kerosene type of fuel, produced to an ASTM specification and normally only available in the U.S.A. It has the same flash point as Jet A-1 but a higher freeze point maximum (-40°C). It is supplied against the ASTM D1655 (Jet A) specification.

JET B

Jet B is a distillate covering the naphtha and kerosene fractions. It can be used as an alternative to Jet A-1 but because it is more difficult to handle (higher flammability), there is only significant demand in very cold climates where its better cold weather performance is important. In Canada it is supplied against the Canadian Specification CAN/CGSB 3.23

MILITARY

JP-4

JP-4 is the military equivalent of Jet B with the addition of corrosion inhibitor and anti-icing additives; it meets the requirements of the U.S. Military Specification MIL-DTL-5624U Grade JP-4. (As of Jan 5, 2004, JP-4 and 5 meet the same US Military Specification). JP-4 also meets the requirements of the British Specification DEF STAN 91-88 AVTAG/FSII (formerly DERD 2454),where FSII stands for Fuel Systems Icing Inhibitor. NATO Code F-40.

JP-5

JP-5 is a high flash point kerosene meeting the requirements of the U.S. Military Specification MIL-DTL-5624U Grade JP-5 (as of Jan 5, 2004, JP-4 and 5 meet the same US Military Specification). JP-5 also meets the requirements of the British Specification DEF STAN 91-86 AVCAT/FSII (formerly DERD 2452). NATO Code F-44.

JP-8

JP-8 is the military equivalent of Jet A-1 with the addition of corrosion inhibitor and anti-icing additives; it meets the requirements of the U.S. Military Specification MIL-DTL-83133E. JP-8 also meets the requirements of the British Specification DEF STAN 91-87 AVTUR/FSII (formerly DERD 2453). NATO Code F-34.

I know alot of guys that run over the road that still burn their old oil. Add a little at a time. I haven't ever done it. I use my old in my shop furnace.

The black that you see in fuel filters on power strokes for example is asphaltenes and that is from the fuel getting to hot. If you see that then you need to fix that issue. It is costing you alot of money in poor fuel milage.

For what its worth I have driven around 30K miles on straight used hydraulic oil. I have accumulated 175K miles on my truck and it is still going strong. I wouldn't burn used motor oil though because of all the nasty pollutants it contains.

this used motor oil was in ur engine with its nasty polutants,,,,i just filter it and put it in my tank. burns just as good as anyother fuel. just dont use to much or performance will suffer. i have a series 60 detroit with a million miles on it. every time i change the oil it goes directly into the fuel tank. same as my ford , chevy and mercedes. one other thing,,ive use new motor oil in my fuel filters before and it smokes bad , kickes and sputters,,but when a quart of oil is all u have on the side of the road it works
