I have a 89 F250 with 351 with auto trans. I've had it at 3 shops and no one can figer out the problem. The exhaust pipes were wet with raw gas,but that cleared up.The engine sounds good.All they would say is that it's not a computer problem. Help!

Change out your ACT, ECT, and O-2 sensors. My 460 went from 7.5 MPG up to 12.5 MPG after doing so. You should be able to get all three sensors from NAPA for under $100. These senors can appear to be all right but after 50K miles or so collect buildups (sludge, corrosion, rust) on the sensing end that give false readings. If that doesn't do it, post another message. I had my mileage nosedive recently (6.5)and it turned out that the fuel pump regulator was asleep on the job and letting all that pressure from the pump create havoc. Once it was replaced I was back to my stellar 14mpg!
