thinking of putting 2 10" subs in. have 03 F-350 SB CC Lariat. was thinking of either kickers, rockfords, or JLs dont know much about this stuff. just want a system that sounds good. and then what amp to go with. dont want to spend a bunch of money. like maybe around $1500
$1500 for just subs and say a couple amps? You could have something really nice. If you're going to want something to sound really good you're going to probably need to go with JL or Eclipse or something like that. The Kickers are nice, but their sound quality isn't that great, although they do hit hard. What kind of music are you into?
the problem is which subs can fit. i have an 02 250 cc and there is limited space to put huge speakers. i went with memphis and they are great. when lookin at sibs you need to pay attention to the lenght of them from front to back. also remember you are gonna need to leve room for the thickness of the box.

How much room xactly do you have to play with? If not alot you can go wih a compression piston type sub which only has like 4 inch mounting depth.
I like Cadence myself though. What type music do you listen too?
and $1500 can do ALOT replace door speakers and put amp on them too .

You might consider a JL steal box for the Superduties, it replaced the center seat/console with a 10" Sub, all looks stock. I have a very similar setup that I made with two 8s in the center seat. They do a nice job of filling in the sound. I will say that they do not slam or give you the thump in the chest, but do a nice job of filling the lower end in and that is what I was looking for.
listen to rock and country. ac/dc to splipknot. looking at the JL W3 or W7 and maybe some tweeters and a new deck get rid of the stock cause i want to get xm or serius radio and be able to play mp3. thanks for all the input
try audiobahn! they are the primo. They have great subs for metal and "Clean" bass lines, that kind that does not flutter, thay also have very high wattage ratings. In this app 10" subs are the best to go for size and sound quality. I have on one audiobahn 10" with a 400w mono amp to it and its %$#@% awesome, i had to install a cap though as the sub was a little power hungry....
Audiobahns aren't good SQ. I have some and at first I thought they were awesome, but then I heard some clean sounding systems. I think the JL W3's are gonna be good for you.
trust me ive heard a lot of systems and this one is great. its the awt10c model, most audiobahns are made for spl but not this one its made for beauty sound. You gotta do research and find a good set up that works together. This seems to work well...
rockford 301m monoblock 900W peak @ 24ohms
audiobahn 10" awt10c sub (400W rms) dvc in parralell (2ohms)
in a 1.65 cu.ft. sealed box.
rockford 1 farad cap
jvc cd/mp3 / 200x4 deck
infinity 250w 6x9s
pioneer 5.25" fronts
8 gauge all around

24 ohms.. please tell me this is a typo. Also Audiobahn doesn't make an AWT10C. They have an AWC10T which is made mainly for SPL.
ya typos 2 ohms... its an AWC10T which is made for sound not spl--
Performer Subwoofers
These woofers are ideal for fans of rock music. The tightness of this bass delivery accentuates kick drums and brings out that mid-range roar.
right from audiobahn.com http://www.audiobahn.com/frame2004.html
as well this sub has almost 10db more efficency over most compairable jls...
and with jls you need a dope amp to make them beam
the only good jl is the w7 line the rest are mediocre at best....
JL has good SQ, and don't have to have an enormous amount of power to push them. At all volumes they sound good. My Audiobahns are rated 92.4dB efficiency and 600wRMS and sure, they hit hard, and have tight bass, but they don't sound nearly as good as many of the other things out there such as JL or Eclipse.
Im in the same situation as the original poster, i have a ton of money to sink into a system but im just concerned about airspace. Will two JL 10" W7's fit into a CC F350 without much modification?
Im a musician, so i think thats where i get my audiophile tendencies...
