I have searched and come up with nothing to help solve this problem. Here it goes: After my truck sits all day in the sun, the keyless entry will not unlock any of the doors. When I crank the engine, the doors will lock and unlock ok for a couple of times then nothing again. (sort of like dead battery but battery is fine) If I wait awhile again it will lock and unlock ok a couple of times and then nothing. I can hear the relays clicking under the dash when this happens and the electric lock motors are trying to work but they seem to be out of juice after a couple of tries. By the way it is never only one but always both that stop at the same time. If the motors were going bad seems they would not always quit at the same time. Any suggestions? Has anyone changed the two relays under the dash to correct this?
The last couple of days have been overcast and much cooler. Oddly so the locks work fine. I am no electrical guru but would the heat have a hand in this?
relays are cheap, you might want to give it a try. sounds like something building up resistance and stopping your door locks from working. check any grounds also.
Finally got around to pulling the relays to the door lock actuators. There are 3 under the center of the dash. I pulled one at a time and all have the same part no. When pressing the remote buttons, I can feel all 3 clicking.
1)Does anyone know if all three control the locks?
2)Also when pressing the lock button to make the horn beep, I noticed the dash lights in the instrument panel "flicker". Is this flickering normal with anybody elses?
AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!
Now I feel better. Not really, I just changed all 3 relays and still not working. I guess the actuators are next. Found some on line for $5 + $1 shipping. Only thing is they are aftermarket and don't look like they will hook up the same way. So it's off to the stealership and $55 ea.
