I have a 1987 F-150 Stepside. The bed is made of wooden planks, and the sides are bolted to the wood. I'm having a problem of moisture rotting out the sides where it is bolted. Also the crossmembers supporting the bed are rotted. Does anyone know where I can get replacement parts for my truck bed? The dealer isn't any help, and I've been having no luck at the junk yards.
I own a 1985 Stepside, and am having similar trouble locating a Stepside bed in worthwhile condition. Mine rotted in the same place, right where the sides connect to the wooden bed. Almost looks as if it will just fall off someday. I know what you're saying about junkyards, I haven't had any luck either, they all keep referring me to bigger junkyards who might have it, but never do. When I first bought this truck used about a year and a half ago I saw two adds in a Want-Ad for stepside beds for sale, one for $300 and one for $350. Didn't have the money then, wish I did, cause I haven't seen one since. Well, I know this probably didn't help, but just check every possible source you can think of, and maybe you'll find one. Good luck!
Hi Rich,
You can purchase the wood boards and the metal bed supports from several after market companies.
MAR-K in Oklahoma (405-721-7945) or BRUCE HORKEY
in Windom, MN. (507-831-5625). As far as the bed
side panel go, you will have to repair the ones you have or find a bed in better condition. The
after market companies do not reproduce these panels and Ford does not have any. If you want
