intalling intake manifold...HELP!
im having a few problems with installing my intake manifold on my 79 302, my fel pro gasket kit comes with 2 sets of intake gaskets. Im guessing one set goes underneath the shield underneath the intake, and the other on top. but my shield was kinda busted in a few parts where it goes around the intake holes, so i cut off the side parts, and am just left with the dish part of the shield on the bottom. How do i intstall this intake now? im pretty sure i cant use both gaskets, but if i used just one would there be enough thickness inbetween the intake and the heads? by the way, my heads have been resurfaced as well.
another thing, i broke the 2 front bolts on my intake when i was dissasembling and threw all my old bolts out, Ive got 10 new bolts that fit, but theres 2 that need to be longer in the middle on the left hand side of the intake, i went to a junkyard yesterday to see if i could find those 2 bolts, but i couldnt find the right ones, all to short..does anyone know the right size so i can get some from the hardware store?
