So why was the 1st gen Lightning given a cam from the 70's that's milder than the stock 351W cam during the same production times? Was it for the marginally tighter lobe seperation?
well being speed density played a large role in the cam used by the Gen1. also being a 2wd race type truck its power range is different then your truck cam of same year.
