OK, based on my previous 3 V10s, I have to admit that I thought you guys with '05s were exaggerating a little about the BSEG. But, I traded my '02 for an '05 and can now fully understand the praise. Ford has done a TERRIFIC job on the new powertrain. Engine is smoother and less noisy than before; tranny shifts much better (still trying to get used to that "extra" shift); and FoMoCo finally hired someone who could design an exhaust system!
Today I went into SUPER-BSEG mode as the truck got sideways while I roasted both rear tires off the crew cab long-bed F250. I can see some pretty low MPG numbers in my future.
congrat's man, i'm glad you understand how we feel. and yes i have done the the same side ways thing next to a hemi and scared him out of a race. think i,m going to rotating tires a lot.
give it some time as it seems to take about 6k to fully break in and then watch out .
a few things a have found high test gas is a waste of cash. dyno runs proved it. full syntec oil seems to make it feel smoother i don't know why, i can just feel it in the way it runs. you will feel a more power at 3k and 6k don't know why again to me it just felt like there is a timer in the pcm
best of luck with your truck
LOL- After my test-drive, I stayed with the baby while MO took the truck for a spin. He wouldn't admit it, but I'm sure she scared the salesman. Lucky for me the crew cab & long bed make the truck a bit too large for her... at least I'll get to drive it most of the time.
i just love going down the road and seeing people stare at the truck. pull in a parking lot and watch the heads turn. go through a drive thru and watch the customers turn. not lying here....it happens everyday i go out.
