No earthly idea about a flood. It wasn't really in an area that I would expect to be flood prone but ya never know. My guess would be massive amounts of condensation. It had been sitting a real long time.
To paraphrase Forrest Gumps mother- "Old trucks are like a box of chocolates, You never know what you've gonna get when you dig in."
*****,
I don't have the sink in the garage (yet) but I replaced the carpet between the garage and the kitchen with ceramic tile. Makes life a little easier....
Carl, Wow, sounds like you got someinteresting paperweights! You'll have to send us a pic of your desk once you start using them
Carl, you're right on about this being the messy part. Earl kept generating a continuous rain of rust, dirt, chunks of grease and dirt, old paint, and drive train fluids for months as we did the disassembly. It does get better when you start to get the parts cleaned up and do the reassembly - although you still have to deal with the mess from any sandblasting, etc. We had a strict rule - NO shoes come from the garage to the house. Good idea - I'm still married, happily I think.
